Meals for First Responder During COVID
RETRO NEWS from 2020
RICHMOND, Virginia - October 27, 2026 - In April of 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic placed unprecedented demands on first responders and local businesses alike, Friedman Law Firm partnered with El Patron Mexican Restaurant & Cantina to show our appreciation for those working on the front lines. Together, we set out to provide free meals to first responders throughout the Richmond area.
Thanks to the incredible support of our community, we were able to provide more than 650 meals in just four days. What started as a simple effort to say “thank you” became an opportunity for our firm and our community to come together during an especially challenging time.
We are deeply grateful to the police officers, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, nurses, and other first responders who served our community throughout the pandemic and continue to make a difference in our community today. While we could never fully repay their dedication, hard work, and sacrifice, we were proud to show our appreciation in a meaningful way while also giving back to a local business.
For Friedman Law Firm, being a Richmond law firm means being part of the community—not simply serving the clients within it. In 2020, that meant finding a way to lend a hand when our neighbors needed it, and partnering with another local business made it possible to do even more. Today, we remain committed to finding ways to support our neighbors and give back to the community we call home.
After all, if you cannot fully thank our first responders for everything they have done for our community, donating the equivalent of 8,000 tacos seems like a pretty good place to start.
