Friedman Law Firm Partners with Townebank
From Rock and Roll and MTV to Practicing Law
December 1, 2024 - Before becoming a lawyer, Rick Friedman played guitar and, alongside his brother Brian, wrote commercial jingles while attending the College of William & Mary. Brian later worked at MTV, leading them to write music together, including the award-winning theme song for MTV's Punk'd.
Rick graduated from Whittier Law School in 2001. Though he initially planned to practice entertainment law, he transitioned into family law after helping partners at his firm with divorce cases.
"While it’s cool to go to a movie theater or turn on a television and hear your music playing, that only affects a lot of people a little bit. In family law, you can’t affect as many people, but you can have an enormous role in their lives.”
He founded Friedman Law Firm in 2010 in Chesterfield, Virginia. The firm now employs 11 attorneys specializing in family law—including divorce, child custody, child and spousal support, and equitable distribution—with plans to expand.
The firm actively supports local causes, including the James River Association and local businesses/first responders during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Partnership with TowneBank: Rick credits TowneBank, Towne Insurance, and TowneBank Mortgage with helping his firm grow and creating specialized mortgage packages for clients going through divorces.
